Privacy notice
Last updated November 2026. This explains what personal data Oggbrooks Web Design Studio (“I”, “me”) holds, why, and your rights under UK GDPR. Contact: [email protected].
What I hold and where it comes from
- Public business details (business name, address, phone, website, opening hours, company number and registered office) from OpenStreetMap, the Food Standards Agency's ratings data and Companies House, and what a business publishes about itself online (its website and its public Instagram, YouTube or Facebook pages), found with a web search. Some of this can identify a sole trader or partner. I only keep business information.
- What you send me: your name, email, phone and message when you use a form on this site, reply to a letter, or email me.
- Tender digest signups: your email address and when you confirmed.
- Payments are handled by Stripe; I receive the amount, your email and a reference, never card details.
Why (lawful basis)
Writing to local businesses about a website, and building a free draft for them, is in my legitimate interests as a small web studio. I've weighed it against yours: it's business information already public, contact is by post (or, for limited companies only, by email), and every message tells you how to stop it. Handling your enquiry, delivering a service you've bought and keeping accounting records is contract and legal obligation. The tender digest is sent only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Draft websites
If I've made a draft site for your business, it sits on a private, unlisted link that only you were sent. It is not indexed by search engines and is deleted after about six weeks, or straight away if you ask me to stop. Its photographs are of your street and neighbourhood, from open collections such as Wikimedia Commons, credited on the page.
How long I keep it
Prospect details: up to 12 months after last contact, then deleted. Opt-outs: kept as a minimal “do not contact” record so you're never contacted again. Clients: for the length of the service plus six years (HMRC). Digest: until you unsubscribe.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies. Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or track you across sites.
Who else sees it
Only the services that run this business: Cloudflare (website and email delivery), Stripe (payments), Resend (sending email), and AI models that help draft website copy and replies (never payment data). I don't sell or share data with anyone else.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to me using it, and I'll stop contacting you. Email [email protected] or reply STOP to anything I've sent. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk.
